Under the Tuscan Sun 2024

The Queen Elizabeth Health Complex Foundation (QEHCF) hosted its 19th annual benefit event, "Under the Tuscan Sun," on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. The event took place at the stunning Entrepôts Dominion in Montreal.

This year, the "Under the Tuscan Sun" event brought together more than 180 members from the Westmount and Montreal communities and was a great success. The event raised over $65,000 in net profits, which will be used to fund the QEHC Diabetes Education Program.

Since 1996, this program has improved the lives of those affected by diabetes and prevented its onset and consequences through education and support. The QEHC Diabetes Education Program offers the services of a registered nurse specializing in diabetes management free of charge.

The evening's highlights included excellent wines donated by the Italian Trade Agency, delicious Italian food stations prepared by the Fairmount Queen Elizabeth, and a live auction for a Wolff E-bike.

Our event also served as a tribute to Ms. Miriam Green's remarkable contributions. As a former senior healthcare administrator, unparalleled community leader, and builder, Ms. Green played a pivotal role in transforming the Queen Elizabeth Hospital into the thriving community health complex it is today. Her dedication and vision continue to inspire us all.

The organizing committee, led by QEHCF Chair John MacDonald, was made up of a dedicated group of volunteers: David Birnbaum, François Campeau, Tony Fargnoli Alexandre Gagnon, Joanne Mastro, Nicole Larocque, Irene Tschernomor, Alexandra Goldbloom, Marine Baillie and Élaine Lalonde.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the unwavering support of our sponsors: METRO, Pharmaprix Vendôme (Mayssa Hanna), La Biosthétique, Robco, McCarthy Tetrault, Gestion de patrimoine Assante, A+, Kane & Fetterly, James Griffin and Sons, BGL Brokerage Ltd, J.E Hanger, Travelway, Dr. and Mrs. Skip Kerner. Their generosity has significantly impacted the success of our event and the QEHC Diabetes Education Program.

The QEHCF would also like to express gratitude to the Air Canada Foundation, Via Rail Canada, and La Biosthétique for their generous contributions to the raffle.
