To mark the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex's (QEHC) 30th anniversary, this year's Under the Tuscan Sun fundraising event was reimagined as an elegant, seated dinner, drawing more than 200 guests from Westmount and across Greater Montreal.

The Italian-themed evening was a tremendous success, generating a record net profit of $155,000 for the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex Foundation (QEHCF).

There could have been no more fitting moment to honour Montreal philanthropist Marvin Corber, whose vision, leadership, and commitment helped guide and strengthen the QEHC at its very beginnings. Thirty years ago, when the QEHC existed only as a vision, Marvin Corber was among a small group of community leaders whose determination, leadership, and belief in the project helped bring it to life and ensure its long-term success. Mr. Corber delivered a heartfelt speech reflecting on his enduring connection to the Complex.

Guests enjoyed a delightful dinner prepared by the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, while Natasha Hall expertly emceed the evening. Highlights included a raffle featuring two Economy Class return tickets to any Air Canada-scheduled destination in North America, generously donated by the Air Canada Foundation, and a gift basket from Pharmaprix Vendôme. Guests also had the chance to watch the Montreal Canadiens playoff game live on giant screens, beer and popcorn on hand, adding excitement to an already memorable evening.

The event was made possible by the tireless efforts of the organizing committee, led by John MacDonald, Chair of the QEHCF, and supported by dedicated volunteers: David Birnbaum, François Campeau, Tony Fargnoli, Alexandre Gagnon, Marie-Laure Guillard, Nicole Larocque, Rebecca Murray, and Irene Tschernomor, as well as the QEHCF team: Élaine Lalonde, Alexandra Goldbloom, and Marine Baillie.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, with special recognition to the Corber family - Marvin, Michael, and Deborah - whose exceptional generosity and support helped make this special 30th Anniversary celebration possible.

We are also deeply grateful to our event partners, Contak AV, Westmount Florist, and Homer's Donuts, whose contributions helped create a truly memorable occasion.

Our mission would not be possible without the steadfast support of our sponsors, including The Morris and Rosalind Goodman Family Foundation, Allan Gilmore, Susan and Richard Hart, Richter Management Ltd., CURE Foundation, Jack Victor Foundation, Gelmont Foundation, The Shapiro Group – RBC, Greenbro Holdings Inc., BFL Canada, Metro Richelieu, The Michael and David Cape Foundation, Pharmaprix, Robco, Holiday Inn & Suites Montréal Airport (IHG), BGL Brokerage, Kane Fetterly, James Griffin and Sons, Randall Kelly and La Biosthétique. Their commitment to our cause continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Finally, a sincere thank you to everyone who attended this year's event. Your generosity made this record-breaking achievement possible and will help ensure that the QEHC continues to provide exceptional healthcare services to thousands of individuals and families across Greater Montreal for years to come.

Grazie e ci vediamo l'anno prossimo!
