The QEHC and the QEHC Foundation are proud to announce the official unveiling of the Warren Allmand Waiting Room, a newly revitalized space located near the Urgent Care Clinic. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 24, at the QEHC.
This project holds deep meaning for our community, as it is dedicated to the memory of Warren Allmand, a respected former board member whose leadership, integrity, and vision left a lasting impact on our organization.
A Space Designed with Patients in Mind
The new waiting room was thoughtfully created to offer patients and families a welcoming, comfortable, and calming environment during what can often be stressful moments. With upgraded seating, improved lighting, and intentional design features, the space reflects our commitment to ensuring that every patient receives care in an environment that is respectful, safe, and supportive.
Honouring Warren Allmand’s Legacy
Warren Allmand dedicated his life to public service, social justice, and community well-being. This new waiting area serves as a tribute to his values and his longstanding connection to the QEHC community. His family—including his wife, Rose Allmand—attended the unveiling and expressed how deeply moved they were to see the QEHC team carrying forward the principles Warren championed throughout his life.
Foundation representatives Elaine Lalonde (Fundraising Consultant) and Marie-Laure Guillard (Board Member), along with QEHC leadership and Joanne Mastro (Chair), shared remarks in front of approximately 40 community guests.
Strengthening the Patient Experience
The Warren Allmand Waiting Room was made possible through the support of the QEHC Foundation, whose mission is to promote, sustain and preserve the healthcare services provided in the community by the QEHC.
During the ceremony, Marie-Laure Guillard emphasized that this project came to life thanks to the generosity of the Foundation’s donors—individuals and partners who believe in compassionate, patient-centred care.
